Thomas Galligan is one of Canada’s most respected trial
and appellate counsel. He has represented the Crown and
insurers on a number of landmark decisions in the Ontario
Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Thomas began his insurance practice with David Murphy and
William Blakeney at Lee Fireman Regan, and continued with
Paul Lee when the firm split up in 1990. He subsequently
worked as Senior Crown Counsel, rejoining private practice
in 2005.
Thomas has extensive experience in catastrophic property and
casualty losses, medical malpractice, errors & omissions /
professional liability and serious personal injury claims.
He specializes in trials and appeals, and has dozens of
reported cases to his credit.
An Ottawa native, Thomas graduated from the University of
Toronto Law School.
Thomas was called to the Ontario Bar in 1989. He has
lectured for the Insurance Institute of Ontario and the CIP
Society, and is greatly in demand as a guest speaker at
industry functions.back
